Dr. Rahul Visvanathan is a periodontist specializing in preventing, diagnosing, and treating diseases that affect the gums, fixing dental implants and treating oral inflammation. In addition, Dr. Rahul is a senior lecturer at Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital in Chennai. He has been trained in the use of lasers in periodontics.

Dr. Rahul feels the best way to ensure people follow oral hygiene is through education programs. He has conducted several dental health care camps and anti-smoking campaigns. He has been on the organizing committee for various Continuing Dental Education programs and has also been invited for guest lectures for general dentists. He is an executive member of the Madras branch of Indian Dental Council.
