Over the years, Dr Pravin has attended many specialized national and international training programmes to help him advance in his field - The India Contact Lens Education Programme, Presbyopia Education Programme, training in LASIK Laser Surgery in Bausch & Lomb, Singapore, Information Technology in Ophthalmic Education, and training in Phacoemulsificaton. He is also recognized by the Fellowship of the International Association of Contact Lens Educators.

Dr. Pravin has attended several medical conferences across India - as a participant and as a speaker. His core subject – soft contact lenses. He has been published in the Journal of Tamil Nadu Ophthalmic Association, Kerala Journal of Ophthalmology and Tamil Nadu Journal of Ophthalmology. Dr Pravin has been conducting Continuing Medical Education(CME) programmes for practitioners across Tamil Nadu.

In spite of Dr Pravin’s busy schedule, he is actively involved in community service – he regularly holds eye screening camps in schools, cataract screening and free medical distribution camps in rural areas and gives presentations and lectures in the Indian Red Cross Society. To acknowledge Dr Pravin’s passion and dedication in his field, the Indian Red Cross Society, Chennai District Branch, awarded him with the Humanitarian Individual Award in 2000 for Healthcare.

Dr. Pravin is a board member in several schools and colleges across Chennai and is also a trustee in various charitable organizations. He was the former Director of Community Service and Director of International Service of the Rotary Club, T.Nagar.

Dr. Pravin is a life-time member in a number of associations, to name a few, International Association of Contact Lens Educators, Australia, All India Ophthalmological Society, Tamil Nadu Medical Practitioners Association and Indian Medical Association.
