Dr (Major) Ramakrishnan, recognized for his work as medical officer in the Indian Army, is an ENT specialist at The Capstone Clinic. He has performed a number of tonsillectomy procedures, microscopic surgeries of ear and larynx, endoscopic sinus surgeries and ear surgeries, nasal surgeries and other minor surgeries. He also has experience in handling chronic headaches, vertigo, allergies and obstructive sleep apnea.

Dr (Major) Ramakrishnan liked the vision of The Capstone Clinic of following an ethical practice and felt it was in sync with the way he treated and took care of his patients. He was familiar with the team of doctors he worked with, and felt they were all of similar mindsets to provide the best healthcare and also collaborate with one another to provide comprehensive healthcare options to families. Dr. R Ramakrishnan has always had a passion for research and plans to research on hearing conservation, occupational hearing loss, hearing rehabilitation, chronic ear diseases and head and neck oncology.

Dr (Major) Ramakrishnan started his career as a general practitioner and after a year joined the Indian Army as a medical officer. Subsequently, he worked as a resident doctor in Command Air Force Hospital in Bangalore. In 2009, he joined SRM Medical College in Potheri as an assistant professor where his responsibilities included teaching medical students. Dr. Ramakrishnan received specialized training in performing head and neck surgeries in Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology in Bangalore and also underwent training in Adyar Cancer Institute, Chennai. He is also a consultant and surgeon at Fortis Malar Hospital, Chennai.

Dr. (Major) Ramakrishnan has authored and co-authored a number of books and articles for medical journals and publications. He has given a number of presentations on ENT related topics. To ensure he stays updated, he attends national workshops and conferences regularly.
